There were times when he felt his life was topsy-turvey and upside-down and every other cliche he could pull from his mind; too much going on, like trying to line up airplanes on a street with the confusion of taking off and wheels up all while cars drift along the asphalt. This was his life: wings folded in confusion and the need for air beneath.
